Tufting Gun Coaster Workshop Information

What you will make

  • You will have a 20x20cm workspace.
  • In this you can make a coaster or mini wall hanging.
  • You will be given time to practise on a separate blank area with the gun before starting your piece.
  • This is a tufting-focused workshop. Once you have tufted your design, I will back and finish your piece after. You will be able to pick up your work within 3 weeks and emailed once ready to collect (or we can arrange posting – you’ll just need to cover the postage costs).

Preparing for your workshop

  • Come with a design idea in mind. Simple works best for the small 20x20cm space – think bold shapes (circles, hearts, squares) and bright blocks of colour. Fine details can be tricky and time-consuming, so we may ask you to simplify your design. You’ll draw it freehand on the day.
  • Bring your own water or refreshments.
  • Tie back long hair.
  • Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting messy – we’ll be using sharp tools and materials.

On the day

  • Your 1-hour session starts at your booked time.
  • Parking can be tricky during busy periods, so allow plenty of time to arrive.
  • This is a short session – please be on time, as there may be another booking right after yours.
  • You’ll receive training on how to use the tufting gun and a health & safety briefing before you start.

How to get here

  • My address is: Studio 2, Hotwalls Studios, Broad St, PO1 2FS.
  • The city is very busy. Please allow extra time when travelling for traffic.
  • There is on-road metered parking. The nearest car park is on East St, PO1 2JJ.
  • The nearest train station is Portsmouth Harbour (15 min walk).

Cancellation and rescheduling policy

  • Changes or cancellations must be requested by email at least 14 days before your workshop date.
  • All amendments or cancellations incur a £10 admin fee per person.
  • Rescheduling can be approved once only and is at my discretion.
  • I can’t offer refunds or reschedule if you give less than 14 days’ notice.
  • If you book within 14 days of the workshop date, there’s no option to cancel or change your booking.
  • Please double‑check your dates before booking – as a sole trader, I rely on my workshops to make a living, and late cancellations mean I may not have time to fill your space, which results in lost income.

Health and safety

  • You must be over 18 to attend a workshop, or 14+ with a responsible adult present.
  • You will be trained on how to use the equipment. By booking this workshop, you agree to be fully responsible for any injuries sustained during and from your workshop.
  • Please ensure you also read through the liability waiver.
  • Equipment used has vibrating motions and weights 1.4kg. I do not recommend if you are pregnant, have any injuries, disabilities or health/medical conditions that may be affected by this.
  • The workshop uses sharp tools including the tufting gun.
