Tufting Gun Mirror Workshop Information

What you will make

  • You will have a 40x40cm space.
  • In this space you will make a tufted frame for a mirror.
  • You will be given time to practise on a separate blank area with the gun before starting your piece.
  • This is a tufting-focused workshop, where you’ll create the tufted frame for your mirror. After the session, I’ll take care of the final finishing and securely fit the mirror for you – adding hooks so it can be hung on the wall.
  • You will be able to pick up your work within 3 weeks and emailed once ready to collect. Unfortunately, I’m unable to offer postage for mirror workshops due to the risk of damage. All pieces must be collected in person from the studio.

Preparing for your workshop

  • You must send your design at least 48 hours before your workshop. You can find a full guide here. 
  • Please bring water/refreshments with you.
  • Long hair must be tied back.
  • Please wear comfy clothes. We will be using sharp materials, so don’t wear anything precious.

On the day

  • Your 3 hours starts at time of booking. If you arrive late, the time will be taken from your 3-hour session, which could mean you don’t finish your tufted artwork.
  • To make the most of your time, please arrive promptly.
  • You will be trained on how to use the tufting gun and be run through health and safety on the day.

How to get here

  • My address is: Studio 2, Hotwalls Studios, Broad St, PO1 2FS.
  • The city is very busy. Please allow extra time when travelling for traffic.
  • There is on-road metered parking. The nearest car park is on East St, PO1 2JJ.
  • The nearest train station is Portsmouth Harbour (15 min walk).

Cancellation and rescheduling policy

  • Each workshop can host up to 4 people, with a minimum of 2 people needed for the session to run.
  • If the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be contacted at least 5 days in advance to reschedule or receive a refund.
  • Changes or cancellations must be requested by email at least 14 days before your workshop date.
  • All amendments or cancellations incur a £10 admin fee per person.
  • Rescheduling can be approved once only and is at my discretion.
  • I can’t offer refunds or reschedule if you give less than 14 days’ notice.
  • If you book within 14 days of the workshop date, there’s no option to cancel or change your booking.
  • Please double‑check your dates before booking — as a sole trader, I rely on my workshops to make a living, and late cancellations mean I may not have time to fill your space, which results in lost income.

Health and safety 

  • You must be over 18 to attend a workshop, or 14+ with a responsible adult present.
  • You will be trained on how to use the equipment. By booking this workshop, you agree to be fully responsible for any injuries sustained during and from your workshop.
  • Please ensure you also read through the liability waiver.
  • Equipment used has vibrating motions and weights 1.4kg. I do not recommend if you are pregnant, have any injuries, disabilities or health/medical conditions that may be affected by this.
  • The workshop uses sharp tools including the tufting gun.
